President Muhammadu Buhari Tuesday condoled with the government and people of Zambia over the passing of former President Rupiah Bwezani Banda, 85.
Buhari, in a statement by his media aide, Garba Shehu, commiserated with the President of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema, over the loss.

He urged approximation of the footprints of the former leader who started his service as a career diplomat, vice president, acting president, before leading the country from 2008 to 2011.
Buhari noted the stewardship and statesmanship of Banda handed over power in 2011 and guided a peaceful transition in the country in 2021.
He urged leaders and citizens to always allow democracy to win.
Buhari urged more prayers for God’s comforting arms on his family and friends.
