The Partners for Legislative Agenda for Nigeria (PLAN), a coalition of civil society and youth groups has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for reappointing the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele for another term of five years.
The President has sent Emefiele’s name to the Senate for confirmation.
PLAN’s Coordinator, Mallam Khalifa Bello Adamu, in a statement on Friday said the act remains one of the dynamic moves of President Buhari and a symbolism of a new dawn were high premium is placed on hard work and competence.
“This is the direction we all expect the nation to drift to forthwith without parochial attachments. On this and much anticipation, we commend the government for doing the right thing on one hand and on another, congratulate the beneficiary for being steadfast in serving his fatherland Nigeria diligently,” Adamu noted.
According to him, PLAN is in support of Emefiele’s reappointment strictly on the grounds of his economic prowess, non-partisan posture and ability to rejuvenate the weak economy.
