The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babachir David Lawal has said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration is gender-sensitive without compromising competency and integrity.
Speaking to the members of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) yesterday in his office, Lawal expressed appreciation for the association’s support for the current anti-corruption and insurgency wars and other policies of the present government.
He urged the organization to articulate its proposals and requests to enable government have a proper appraisal that will consequently make it possible for Nigerian women to be appointed into the offices they are competent to handle in tandem with the government’s policy of transparency and accountability.
The SGF further urged the women organization to sensitize its numerous members on the need for them to help in the fight against corruption right from their various homes by ensuring that ill-gotten wealth does not enter their homes through whatever means.
Speaking earlier the President of the NCWS, Chief Nkechi Mba thanked President Buhari for including some Nigerian Women in his administration.
She however requested that more women be included on the various government appointments, including Board membership, to enable them realize the 35 percent affirmative in the governance of the nation.
