President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday rejoiced with Senate President Ahmad Lawan on his 62nd birthday.
Buhari, in a statement by his spokesman, Femi Adesina, appreciated the maturity and purposeful leadership that the lawmaker had brought to the upper chamber, handling every issue with years of experience and wisdom.
He joined members of the All Progressives Congress, National Assembly, staff, family, friends and associates of Lawan in celebrating “another age, heralded by lofty achievements, which include years of research and sharing of knowledge as a lecturer, eight years in House of Representatives, before his election to the Senate in 2007.”
Buhari, who said Lawan’s steady progress on the ladder of leadership showed his empathy, tenacity and focus on improving the lives of Nigerians, added that the cordial relationship between the executive and legislature had fostered faster and better results in the development of the country.
He prayed that the almighty God grant Lawan good health, wisdom and longer life to keep serving the country and humanity.
