President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a congratulatory message to the United States President, Joe Biden, as his country celebrates her 245th Independence Day on July 4th.
President Buhari, in a statement on Sunday by his media aide, Garba Shehu, joined Biden, the government and the people of the United States as they commemorated the special day and the annual celebration of nationhood.
The President noted with delight how the Biden administration was working earnestly to overcome some of the country’s greatest challenges, including racism and especially the Coronavirus epidemic that had inflicted on the United States, a quarter of the global fatalities.
The statement said Buhari said he was “keenly watching with great interest” as the Biden administration made progress in its efforts to improve U.S.-Africa ties and interactions for the betterment of the continent.
President Buhari expressed confidence that given the shared values of democracy, rule of law and inclusive prosperity, the strategic partnership and engagements between Nigeria and the United States would continue to grow for the mutual benefits of the two countries and people.
