He prayed Allah to grant Fintiri, the family and people of the state the fortitude to bear the loss of their illustrious son.

In his response, Fintiri thanked Buhari, saying “We’ve lost a great son of Adamawa, a brother and father who was committed to the Adamawa project.”

The governor disclosed that the death of Tukur had left a vacuum, praying Allah to grant Tukur His endless mercy and admit him into Jannatul Firdaus.

Buhari’s nephew, Mamman Daura, who also paid condolence visit to Fintiri, described the Late Tukur as a national icon and university administrator who opened his doors to all Nigerians irrespective of their creed.

Daura said Tukur was a man of personal character, intense knowledge, good humour and a sterling example of  a nationalist committed to the unity of Nigeria.

He added that Tukur’s demise at this critical time of the Nations growth and development would be difficult to deal with as he represented a united Nigeria.
