Speaking at a joint news conference organised by the police and the state Ministry of Education, Bello said the story going  around that he was killed was not true, saying, “I’m healthy and with my businesses”.
According to him, the said story quoted some people close to me  as saying that he was receiving threat messages but he   never discussed such with anybody.
On the purported query said to have been issued by the  ministry, Bello said: “I have not received any query from anybody.”
Asked why he was unreachable for two days, Bello said by Friday, he was in Kano over purchase of school  furniture while on Saturday he was there filling the data census form which was given them  by the ministry and  must be submitted that day.
“It is not that I was invited, when I issued the result I had to go and intimate the ministry that I had issued the result because of the sensitivity of the issue, I was neither  detained or nor did I see any police man,” he added.
“I’m here in the midst of press men to tell the world that what has been going on around the world in the media that I was killed or murdered is not true, I’m healthy and with my businesses since on that day, this is what I have to say to the whole world on the issue. I was not killed,” he said.
Earlier the state Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bala Zama Senchi, said the impromptu press conference became very necessary to clear the air about the purported release of the result concerning one of the presidential candidates.
“I want to draw the attention of the members of the public that whatever was said that the principal was dead is a lie. The principal is doing fine, he has no problem, we want to tell the whole world that the principal is well and nothing has happened to him,” he said. The ministery earlier said the principal was earlier summoned to asacertain that the result released was genuine.
