The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly Matters in the House of Representatives, Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub, has disclosed that the president has assented to 15 bills in the last year.
He disclosed this while briefing journalists at the National Assembly on Thursday on the activities of the House of Representatives and its relationship with the executive.

He also said the president was awaiting the harmonised Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) and the Electoral Act Amendment Bills passed by the two chambers of the National Assembly.
El-Yakub stressed that the symbiotic relationship with the National Assembly resulted in the positive policies of the federal government that touched the lives of Nigerians despite the challenges of insecurity facing the country.
He said Nigerians have seen improvements in service delivery and good governance as a result of the good relationship between the executive and the legislature in the last two years.
