President Muhammad Buhari has arrived Katsina state en route Daura, his home town, ahead of Saturday’s gubernatorial and state assembly elections.
Buhari who touched down at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport at about 6:15pm was received by Governor Aminu Bello Masari, his deputy, Mannir Yakubu, and the secretary to Katsina state government, Dr Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa.
After airport pleasantries, the president was airlifted by a Presidential Helicopter to Daura, about 75km from the state capital.
Others at the airport to welcome the president include the state chairman of APC, Alhaji Shitu S. Shitu and an elder of the APC, Alhaji Dahiru Bara’u Mangal alongside top politicians and supporters in the state.
Meanwhile, the President has touched down in Daura at about 6:50pm and was received by the Emir of Daura, Faruk Umar, alongside family, friends and associates.
A thanksgiving dinner is slated for tonight by the wife of the president for her husband’s victory at the polls.
