Nigerian Polo fraternity salutes President Buhari on his administration’s drive to reposition the country’s hospitality and tourism industry with the appointment of the First Vice President of the Nigerian Polo Federation (NPF) Nura Sani Kangiwa as the Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism.
Kangiwa’s appointments which approval letter was conveyed to the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, by Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, Chief of Staff to the President, last Tuesday, did not come as surprise to tourism and hospitality watchers, given his sterling pedigree in the sector, takes immediate effect from September 1, 2020.
Polo Royals can also confirmed that before this latest appointment, Nura was the Vice President Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN) and Special Adviser to Governor Bagudu of Kebbi State and one of his major achievements was the return of the foremost Argungu Fishing Festival earlier this year, with President Buhari participating.
NSK, as he is fondly, called by his colleagues within the polo circle, holds a traditional chieftaincy title of Turakin Kebbi), was listed in the Top 100 Tourism Personalities in Nigeria 2018. He remains the Director-General of Argungu International Fishing & Cultural Festival.
Alhaji Nura Sani Kangiwa was born in Argungu, on the 10th of May, 1970. He holds an OND in Business Administration from the Kebbi State Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi, B.Sc. in Political Science from the Usmanu Dan Fodio University, Sokoto.
