The Federal Government has approved the appointment of Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, as the Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Cross River State.
This was disclosed by the Pro Chancellor of the university General Matthew Luther Agwai (retd) on Wednesday when he led members of the council on a congratulatory visit to the emir at his palace.

He said the University of Calabar community was overwhelmed and happy with the appointment of Emir Aminu Ado Bayero as the new University’s Chancellor.
General Agwai said with the vast experience of the emir, the university would achieve the greater height of academic excellence.
In his response, the Emir of Kano expressed gratitude to the federal government for finding him worthy to serve as the Chancellor of the university.
The emir, however, solicited the support of all members of the council and the university community in ensuring that the desired goals are accomplished.
