There is tension as some placard carrying lawmakers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the House of Representatives are chanting “freedom comes by struggle” ahead of the budget presentation by President Muhammadu Buhari.
They started chanting as Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, stepped into the chamber ahead of Buhari’s arrival.
The chant, started by Tajudeen Yusuf (PDP, Kogi) was picked up by other PDP lawmakers, and even led to a physical fisticuff between Linus Okorie (PDP, Ebonyi) and Bashir Babale (APC, Kano) who tried to stop him.
Although, Buhari is yet to arrive, the House of Representative chamber, venue of the budget presentation, has turned rowdy as Senate President, Bukola Saraki, tried in vain to calm the situation.
