Offiong Edem is a 34 year old Cross River State born Table Tennis champion who will be making her fourth Olympics appearance in Tokyo.
Offiong Edem who is based in Spain disclosed that ITTF and her friends donated most of the Table Tennis equipment, including barts, canvases, tee-shirts, and equipment to support the Foundation.
“ITTF was excited when they learnt about my Foundation, which is the reason they sent in all these equipment to support the training of these children. There are 30 of them being trained by my Foundation.
“I am giving the equipment, including stationery and other food palliatives, all out to these budding kids. This is because they cannot afford to buy any of the equipment. A bart costs over N150,000. I do this to give back to the society and to discover many more Offiong Edems.”
Edem also said some players discovered by her Foundation are already champions in junior championships.
