Broadband availability will boost e-commerce – MainOne

The firm projected that the advent of broadband in Nigeria will further open up the electronic commerce market in the country.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of MainOne, Ms. Funke Opeke, the initiative will also pave way for emergence of e-commerce sites and businesses put together by young individuals with the sole aim of creating jobs, driving value, productivity and adding more to Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Opeke, who spoke at an event organised by Alliance for Affordable Internet (A4AI), said the initiative was aimed at bringing together stakeholders to drive policy change, dialogue and investments needed to put internet access in the hands of millions across Africa.
