Bring attackers of Apostle Suleman to book, CAN urges IGP

The  Edo State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN),  has called on the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba to bring those behind the assassination attempt on the General Overseer of the Omega Fire Ministry, Apostle Johnson Suleman, to book.
The state chairman of CAN, Dr Bishop Oriname Oyennude Kure, made the call in Benin while speaking with journalists in reaction to the attack on the clergyman.
“We urge the security operatives in the state and the Nigeria Police Force under the leadership of the  Inspector General of Police to wade into this matter by bringing to book the perpetrators, their sponsors and all those in connection with the heinous and ungodly act.
“We condemn as reprehensible the attempted assassination made on the man of God — Apostle Johnson Suleman on October 21, leading to the death of seven persons including three police officers attached to the clergyman,” he said.
Kure said the body of Christ is with Suleman on the issue, as an injury to one is an injury to all.
“Apostle Johnson Suleman, we want to let you know that any attack against you, is an attack against the church, and we are against this heinous and ungodly act by these assailants.”
Saddened by the spate of insecurity in the country, the CAN leader also urged both the state and federal governments to come up with more stringent proactive measures in cubing the excesses of the men of the underworld.
