BREAKING: Senate suspends plenary to honour dead soldiers

The Senate on Thursday suspended its plenary in honour of the 44 soldiers reportedly killed by insurgents last week.

Senators also resolved to send a delegation to commiserate with the families of the killed soldiers.

The senators are to reconvene plenary next Tuesday.

The lawmakers took turns one after the other to lament the situation faced by Nigerian soldiers facing the Boko Haram insurgents.

They later observed a minute silence in honour of the killed soldiers.
