Two factions of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State are holding a parallel governorship primaries in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The Sikirullahi Ogundele-led faction backed by the national leadership of PDP is conducting its governorship primaries at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, OOLP while the faction headed by Bayo Dayo, is holding its own at the party secretariat, IBB Boulevard, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The Dayo-led faction has two governorship aspirants, Alhaji Wole Adeyanyu and Prince Adeleke Shittu, while Ogundele-led has sole aspirant, Ladi Adebutu, who is a member of the House of Representatives.

When Daily Trust visited the party secretariat along the Presidential Boulevard, Abeokuta, it was gathered that one of aspirants (Adeyanju) had withdrawn from the race.
