A multi-storey building collapses in Ikoyi, Lagos State, leaving many people trapped.

A 21-storey building has collapsed in Ikoyi, Lagos State, leaving many people trapped.

The building, which is under construction, collapsed at Gerald Road in the highbrow area of Lagos.

Rescue officials from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the state’s ambulance, the fire services, among others are currently on ground.

The Director-General, LASEMA, Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, said emergency response plan was swiftly activated following the distress call.
