Many students have abducted at an Islamiyya school at Tegina in Rafi local government area of Niger State.
The abduction followed an attack on Tegina in the early hours of Sunday.
The number of students abducted could not be ascertained as at press time.
The victims are said to students of Salihu Tanko Islamic school.
However, two people were shot in the attack, with one person confirmed dead.
The State Government said it is still gathering reports on the attack so as to take necessary measures to secure the release of those kidnapped.
Mary Noel Berje, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, said this in her response to the attack.
Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Ahmed Matane, said they are waiting for parents to give records of number of children they sent to the school before they can come up with the exact figure of those abducted.
The Islamic school is said to be a private one.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, was not available when contacted for confirmation and reaction.
