Manchester City have won the 2018/2019 Premier League season after blowing away Brighton & Hove Albion to win 4-1 on Sunday evening.
A goal and an assist from Riyad Mahrez sealed the 4-1 comeback win at Brighton & Hove Albion that confirmed Manchester City as Premier League champions.
The Algerian, a 2015/16 champion with Leicester City, replaced Phil Foden in the starting line-up and starred as Pep Guardiola’s side defended the Premier League title and claimed the Trophy for the fourth time.
Glenn Murray gave Brighton a shock lead when he headed in Pascal Gross’s 27th-minute corner.
But Sergio Aguero levelled within a minute after being played in by David Silva, before Aymeric Laporte headed City in front from Mahrez’s corner on 38 minutes.
After the break, Mahrez fired superbly into the top corner before Ilkay Gundogan scored a brilliant free-kick with 18 minutes remaining.
City finished on 98 points, one above Liverpool, who won 2-0 against Wolverhampton Wanderers on the final day.
