Many commercial tricycle operators protested at the Abule-Egba area of Lagos State the alleged killing of one of them by a policeman attached to Meran Police Station.

The operators took to the street on Thursday morning, blocking all entry and exit routes of Meran, a community in Abule-Egba, to express their dissatisfaction over the recent killings and extortion by the police.

Some said a policeman allegedly stabbed an operator with a dagger while others said he was shot at by the policeman who left him to die by the side of the road.
