Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has ordered the reopening of tertiary institutions in the state from September 14.
The governor disclosed this during a briefing on Saturday at the State House, Marina.

He also disclosed that primary and secondary schools may tentatively be re-opened by September 21, 2020.
All schools in Lagos state and other States of the country had, since March, been closed due to the ravaging coronavirus pandemic, which has claimed hundreds of lives.
“I am pleased to announce that our tertiary institutions will be allowed to reopen from September 14, 2020.
“This decision is subject to review of our ongoing modelling and what procedure comes out from the Ministry of health,” he said.
He made known, however, that bars, spas, night clubs and lounges among others remain closed.
Exiting students are already in school for their examinations.
But most stakeholders in the education sector want the full reopening of schools in the country.
However, the federal government, last Monday, said that no date had been fixed yet for the re-opening of the nation’s schools.
It said it was still engaging stakeholders on the full resumption of the schools.
The Minister of State Education, Mr. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, stated this at the 60th joint national briefing of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19.
This is as he urged students of tertiary institutions, who have been protesting the continued closure of their schools, to be more patient with the government.
He expressed optimism that the date for resumption was around the corner, but that he would not be brandishing dates.
According to him, the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, and himself met some stakeholders in tertiary education earlier in the day on the issue.
He said that about 78 universities, which are mainly privately-owned, are insisting that they are ready for resumption while the response from government-owned universities are still “50-50″.
He assured that after aggregating opinions, he would return to the PTF to review the situation before going ahead to make a pronouncement on the dates.
