Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have killed six persons in a village in Takai Local Government area of Kano state.
Takai LGA in Kano south is about 80 kilometres from Kano metropolis, and it shares border with several towns of Jigawa state.

The gunmen were said to have raided Karfi village in the local government and abducted the 53-year-old village head, Abdulyahyah Ilo.
They were said to stormed the village on three motorcycle from Bauchi state through Ringim forest in Jigawa.
The attackers were already on their way out of the village after abducting the traditional ruler when the villagers mobilised the vigilante groups and youths to track them down.
The gunmen were said to have turned back and opened fire on the trailing groups, shooting nine of them out of which six persons have so far been confirmed dead while three others are said to be responding to treatment.
Confirming the incident, the spokesman of the police in Kano, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa said a team of operatives has been dispatched to the LGA with the goal of rescuing the abducted village head and arresting the suspects.
