Gunmen have reportedly killed one policeman and a vigilante on patrol in Sokoto State.
It was learnt that the incident occured around 3am on Monday at Kwanan Milgoma along Sokoto-Bodinga road.
Although the Spokesman of the Sokoto Police Command could not be reached at the time of filing this report, a senior police officer who spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed the attack to our reporter.
According to him, the operatives were caught unaware by the gunmen who came in a white Hilux.

“The gunmen met the operatives at a checkpoint along Sokoto-Bodinga road and opened fire on them. They killed one policeman and a vigilante and went away with two AK-47 rifles.
“Their bodies were deposited at the mortuary of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital,” he said.
