Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, 15th Emir of Kano, has moved into a palace in the ancient town.
Daily Trust had reported how he returned to the town in the early hours of Saturday.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who sacked Ado Bayero alongside other Emirs appointed by his predecessor, Abdullahi Ganduje, had given them 48 hours to vacate their palaces and hand over to the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affair.
He had subsequently announced the reinstatement of Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi, whom Ganduje deposed in 2020.
