Police Confirm death of Davido’s 3-year-old son

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, has confirmed the death of Ifeanyi Adeleke, the three-year-old son of famous Nigerian popstar, Davido.

The PPRO in a telephone conversation stated that after the incident, eight people were brought in for questioning and after a thorough investigation, anyone found culpable of the child’s death would be arrested.

“It is true, the child is dead. About eight people were brought in for questioning and we are investigating the matter. Anyone found culpable in the death of the child would be arrested,” the police spokesman said.

Daily Trust learnt that the kid drowned in a pool at his father’s house in Banana Island on Monday while his parents, Davido and fiancee, Chioma Rowlands, were at Ibadan, Oyo State, for a family gathering.

Moreso, it was gathered that quite a number of people at Davido’s house when the incident happened were taken to a police station for questioning.

The inconsolable singer was said to have been moved from the hospital his late son was rushed to and taken to his father’s house.

Nigerians have since taken to their various social media accounts to pray for the family.

However, Davido or anyone from his camp are yet to react to the development hours after the rumour of Ifeanyi’s death spread on social media.

The sad news of the boy’s death emanated from a popular Nigerian actress and close friend of the singer, Eniola Badmus, in a now-deleted post.
