President Muhammadu Buhari has been conferred with the traditional title, Sadauki Gwandu, a title bestow on brave warriors.
The Emir of Gwandu and chairman of the Kebbi state council of Chiefs, Alhaji Muhamamdu Bashar, conferred the title on the president during a courtesy call on Wednesday.
Amidst top traditional rulers in the state, the Emir, who fought the civil war together with the president, said the title was bestowed on the president in recognition of his outstanding leadership qualities.
Recalling how they fought to keep the country together during the Biafra war, the Emir said the president was committed to the development of the country.
“I know you’re seeking the position in the interest of the country and I know the battle we fought to keep this country together.
“You haven’t told us the strategy you used to survive Ojukwu’s onslaught without sustaining injury like us,” he said.
Highpoint of the event was the presentation of the certificate of the title to the President by the Emir.
