An aircraft belonging to the Nigerian Air Force has crashed en route to Minna, Niger State capital, from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
Ibikunle Daramola, spokesman of the force, confirmed the incident, saying all the persons on board were killed.

Earlier while confirming the tragic incident in a tweet, Hadi Sirika, Minister of Aviation, had said investigation is ongoing.
“A military aircraft King Air 350 has just crashed short of our Abuja runway after reporting engine failure enroute Minna. It appears to be fatal. We should remain calm & wait for the outcome of investigation by the military, while we pray for the departed soul/souls,” he tweeted.

The aircraft was said to have reported engine failure at 10:39am and crashed on the final approach path of Abuja runway 22 at 10:48am.
