BREAKING: Again, insurgents invade community near Maiduguri

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have attacked and razed down another community near Borno State capital, Maiduguri last night, a source said.

The insurgents who rode on bicycles, invaded Mamannti village, an outskirts of Maiduguri at about 10:30pm yesterday, shouting “God is great” as they shoot sporadically.

According to the source, the whole community was burnt down as residents fled to Molai for safety.

“As I am speaking with you, the village is burnt down and many animals dead, when people were running; the invaders said, “don’t run we have been warned not to kill you.”

He added: “I can’t tell you the casualties figure because we all ran to Molai. We are waiting for the military to go there now,” the source said.

The Boko Haram insurgents have been staging attacks on communities close to Maiduguri in recent times, burning down houses and carting away foodstuff and livestock.
