The three Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, staff abducted on Saturday in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State, during the gubernatorial and state House of assembly elections, have regained freedom.
The spokesman of Katsina Police command SP Gambo Isah, who confirmed the development, did not however, disclose if ransom was paid or not.
Isah said, upon their release, the victims were taken to Danmusa hospital for medical check up before rejoining their respective families.
He said investigation was on top gear with a view to arresting the hoodlums behind the kidnapped.
It could be recalled that bandits had attacked polling units at Maidabino village in Danmusa LGA on election day, abducting the staff before killing a police corporal Mannir Usman, on duty.
