ATBU Professor regains freedom after 25 days in captivity

Twenty-five days after the abduction of Professor Aliyu Muhammad, the Head of Department, Crop Production at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, Daily Trust reports that the professor regained his freedom on Thursday after ransom was paid.

Family members said Muhammad who was abducted on January 17th 2021 when gunmen breached his home security and, in the process, killed his son, Abdulaziz Aliyu in the Wusasa area of Zaria was released around Galadimawa in Giwa local government area of Kaduna state.

His son, Dr. Khalifa Aliyu Muhammed who confirmed his father’s release to Daily Trust said they were at the hospital for medical check-up. He thanked all those who assisted the family with prayers.
