The midfielder is leaving Italy this summer to move to Madrid but has already revealed that he will have fond memories of his time in Milan.

Now, with Italy meeting Brazil and Kaka likely to start, he explained that he is looking forward to what is sure to be a tough match.

“It will be my first match against Italy. I feel very Italian, I spent six years there and I have a lot to thank the country for and Milan,” AS quote him as saying.

“They suffered a defeat in London, but this time it will be different, it is an official game and I will play it with a lot of respect.

“Brazil against Italy is an international classic. They have to win [after their loss to Egypt] and that will give them special motivation, but for Brazil the motivation is always to finish first.”

The Real Madrid midfielder also spoke about the tournament itself, acknowledging that there are a few teams who could win it.

“There are three favourites to win; Brazil, Italy and Spain, and one can’t forget about Egypt, who have been a great surprise. Everyone is speaking about Brazil and Spain but Italy are never dead. In 2006 they began wounded and ended up winning the World Cup,” he concluded.
