An 11-year-old boy, Shekpami Saidu, got drowned in a river at Dafa community in Kundu Ward of Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
A resident of Dafa simply identified as Dogara said the incident happened on Monday afternoon during a heavy downpour when the Shekpami was crossing the river to get to Tunga-Gwomani.
He said the teenager who left home to join his father in the farm was swimming across the river when he got drowned.

The Chief of Dafa, Alhaji Abdullah Kajiya, who confirmed the incident to our reporter at his palace yesterday, said the corpse of the teenager was yet to be recovered.
He said he mobilised fishermen and divers since Monday to search for the corpse; which he said was yet to be found.
