Boy down with Noma disease battles for survival

The father of a 9-year-old boy suffering from Noma disease has appealed to spirited individuals to assist him financially for the treatment of the boy.

Malam Hussein, the father of Mustapha, who resides at Gomben Doka in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State told North-East Trust that his son was treated initially by a herbalist but later taken to Mutum-Biyu General Hospital.

Hussein further told North-East Trust that his son was again referred from Mutum-Biyu General Hospital to the Specialist Hospital in Jalingo from where he was also referred to University of Jos Teaching Hospital for surgery.

He said he had spent all he had on the treatment of the boy and now has nothing to even transport him to the hospital in Jos where he was referred to not to talk of affording the bill for the surgery.

“We spent all we had in treating Mustapha in the past several months and now we don’t have money to move to Jos where he is referred to for surgery. We don’t have money for the surgery and other medications,” he said.

He appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to assist him to pay the bill for the treatment of his son.
