The Head Coach of the Flying Eagles, Ladan Bosso, has come under fire as Nigerians on Twitter have continued to react to the loss of the national U-20 men’s team to The Gambia.

On Monday, the seven-time African champions failed to reach the finals of the ongoing U-20 AFCON in Egypt after they suffered a 0-1 loss to the imperious Young Scorpions of The Gambia.

Therefore, most of the disappointed Nigerian football fans are calling for the head of the Bosso who doubles as the president of Nigerian Football Coaches Association.

Their calls for his sack are coming less than two months to the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Championship in Indonesia where Nigeria, Senegal, The Gambia and Tunisia will be representing the continent of Africa.

A Twitter user @Zeunonne said  “A team that could not string 5 passes together and create decent chances cannot be described as playing good games. It was a dreadful performance not fitting for human eyes,”

Another user @yemisadiq said the team would have buried the match with the penalty awarded to them. “The moment Nigeria’s flying Eagles were awarded a penalty and how they missed it. The boys might have to fight for a bronze medal. Though the World Cup ticket is secured already,” he said.

Another user @Osadebe2003 stated that the coach is incompetent to lead the team.

“They should disband that team with immediate effect. You can’t pick a single player from that team. The coach is technically deficient and should go,” he said.

Similarly, a Twitter user @BriggsTohluh also believes the coach, Ladan Bosso, should be sacked. “I have always said that this man is just a product of a not working and clueless administration. He knows nothing about football, how I can decipher his lack of tactics as an analyst and the admin can’t is so scary,” he said.

In the same vein, another Twitter user, @ekpoeddie simply tweeted: “Worst Flying Eagles in Nigeria’s history.”

For a veteran sports journalist, Patrick Omorodion “Age grade competitions are developmental no doubt but I still maintain that Ladan Bosso is a quota coach.”

However, Bosso and his wards have another opportunity to redeem their image when they play for the bronze medals against Tunisia on Friday.
