Borno youths shed tears at peace concert

They were mourning the death of hundreds of youth who had been killed in the more than three years old insurgency which has pitched the Boko Haram sect against the federal government.
The Borno youth matched in procession holding white handkerchiefs to wipe away their tears in place of placards carried by their counterparts from other states.
The leader of the group and a peace ambassador, Mr. Ahmed Sheu said their presence at the concert was not for merry making.
“Our presence is to inform the Nigerian government on the need to assist Borno state government to restore peace in the troubled state and other states facing similar problem in the country. We are here to tell other Nigerian youth on the need to join hand and forces together to restore peace into the trouble states in Nigeria,” he said.
He lamented that the event proceedings did not reflect what was happening in their state.
“This event does not reflect what we are facing in my state and I expected that we will all join force together, identify problem and tell people especially those who can assist us in finding a lasting solution to the crisis,” Sheu commented.
