Borno youth groups hire 27 lawyers to take action against gov’s critics

In response to recent criticisms of Governor Babagana Zulum’s administration, youth groups in Borno State, known as the 99 Clubs and Associations, have hired 27 lawyers to pursue legal action against media critics.

Recently, the media has been awash with criticisms of Governor Zulum’s style of administration, alleging that Zulum is running a one-man show, building flyovers for kickbacks, while some local government education teachers are still receiving N7,500 as monthly salary.

Ali Abatcha, the state coordinator of the youth groups, expressed deep concern over what he termed baseless and false criticisms against Governor Zulum. He cautioned critics to retract their statements within 24 hours or face legal action.

Abatcha underscored the significant developmental projects and selfless service rendered by Governor Zulum, asserting that such efforts deserve commendation rather than unwarranted criticism.

He warned that failure to comply with the retraction demand would result in legal action, with the youth groups prepared to involve law enforcement authorities if necessary.

Furthermore, Abatcha insisted that the critics issue public apologies for their remarks, saying the entire Borno State community expects accountability and respect.
