Residents in Borno have been paying respects after news of the death of Abba Kyari, a chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, after battling coronavirus disease.
His kinsmen have described him as a great son of his native Bama and a patriot committed to service of humanity.
The Secretary General of Bama Progressive Forum (BPF), Dr. Ali Bakari Mohammed, said, “Mallam Abba Kyari is a man of virtue, honour and a worthy ambassador of Bama and Borno State as a whole. He will be remembered for his hard work, philanthropy, principle and dedication to duty. Above all, he is a worthy role model to emulate by our generation and indeed the future generation.”
The Proprietor of Future Prowess Barr Zannah Mustapha said, “He is a very personable and distinct personality with him as your enemy you don’t need a friend, I became close to him some three decades ago. He doesn’t do or say what he is not going to do. He tells anybody what is feasible and doesn’t dwell on fantasy.
“He has been sponsoring 150 orphans children in since 2010 to date. Myself the headmaster, the students and one of his friend knows of this sponsorship and want us all not to let other people know,” Barr. Hannah said.
Secretary Board of Trustees, Bama Initiative for Human Development, Kachalla Grema Kyari said, We wish to extend our sincere condolences to Mr. President His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari for the passing away of his most loyal a super technocrat Chief of Staff, Malam Abba Kyari at a time his services is most needed in the country.
“Indeed President Muhammadu Buhari, loses a complete devoted Chief of Staff, perfect gentleman, a loyal and a good friend who sincerely served the nation.”
