The Borno State government has expressed its readiness to collaborate with the Federal Ministry of Youth Development to empower youths through renewable energy initiatives and enhance their resilience.
Governor Babagana Zulum made this commitment during a meeting with the Minister of Youth Development, Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, at the North-East Youth Stakeholders’ Town Hall Meeting held at the Maiduguri Government House.
Governor Zulum stressed the need for dialogue and constructive engagement between the government and the youth, stating, “We are ready to partner with your ministry, especially in the area of renewable energy, to empower our teeming youths. We look forward to collaborating with you in this regard.”
He encouraged youths across the region and the nation to engage in peaceful dialogue and support governmental reforms.

In her address, Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim highlighted that the event is part of her ongoing zonal town hall youth engagement series aimed at fostering understanding and dialogue between the youth and the federal government. She outlined key initiatives such as the Presidential Initiative on Youth Enterprise Clusters (PIYEC) and the 30% youth quota in federal appointments as evidence of the administration’s commitment to creating more opportunities for young Nigerians.
