Borno guber: PDP vows to seek reversal of S/Court order

“The Supreme Court ordered parties to go back to the tribunal for continuation of the petition which gave the tribunal the opportunity to dismiss our petition in view of its earlier ruling rejecting our request for pre-trial conference. It is surprising that the tribunal based its ruling on the grounds that it is an abandoned petition. At no time did we abandon our petition”, he said.

Goni said his party would take its case to the National Human Rights Commission and other international human rights organization, urging the National Assembly, the executive, the judiciary, the Nigeria Bar Association and civil society organizations to critically examine the nation’s electoral laws again. This, according to him, is to ensure that “our democratic process is transparent and not hijacked by desperate politicians through violence, thuggery, intimidation and contrived arrangement with corrupt judges and lawyers to brazenly usurp the mandate of the people.”
