The Borno State government has donated 18 motorcycles to troops operating in the state to enhance their operations against the Boko Haram insurgents in the southern part.
The Commissioner for Information and Internal security, Prof. Usman A. Tar stated this during the presentation of the motorcycles to 25 Brigade Nigerian Army (Damboa) in Maiduguri yesterday.
He said the gesture will also strengthen the commitment of the troops to combating insecurity in the state.
Usman represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Internal Security, Alh. Modu Mustapha emphasised the state government’s dedication to eradicating insurgency and restoring peace to Borno State.

“Security remains a top priority for the Zulum administration, and we have made significant strides in this regard since the governor assumed office,” Prof. Tar stated.
Receiving the motorcycles on behalf of the Commander 25 Brigade of Nigeria Army, Damboa town, Brig General Rashid Sani Omolori, expressed gratitude to the Borno State government for its support.
“These motorcycles will significantly enhance our operational capabilities, especially in accessing difficult terrains that are inaccessible to conventional vehicles.
“We assure the government that these motorcycles will be utilized effectively to counter insurgent activities and restore peace to the state. “He said.
