The National Land Development Agency (NALDA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Animal Resources and Fisheries Development, Borno State, has trained 269 graduates selected from across the 27 local government areas on soil analysis and extension services under the National Young Farmers Scheme.
Governor Babagana Umara Zulum Monday hosted the graduation ceremony of the soil doctors and extension workers in Maiduguri.

About 1000 graduates are expected to benefit from the training, which would be conducted in batches.
President Muhammadu Buhari represented by President of the Senate, Ahmed Ibrahim Lawal, said the beneficiaries would improve the capacity of farmers and promote the practice of sustainable soil management.
On his part, Governor Zulum emphasized the need for more extension workers to revitalize the agricultural sector in Nigeria.
