Secretary to the State Government, Ambassador Baba Ahmed Jidda, stated this in a statement issued to newsmen.
“The declaration is to enable the people of the state welcome General Muhammadu Buhari who will arrive Maiduguri on a campaign visit on Monday. Gov. Kashim Shettima enjoins all Borno residents to come out en mass to welcome the peoples’ general,’’ the statement said.
Most streets and roundabouts have been adorned with Buhari’s pictures and that of Governor Kashim Shettima.
Similarly, town criers, speaking in Kanuri in Hausa were seen moving from one street to the other, calling on the people to attend the grand rally scheduled to hold at the Ramat Square in Maiduguri.
