Borgu people in Niger, Kebbi and Kwara states on Thursday met President Muhammadu Buhari, demanding for the creation of Borgu state.
The delegation was led by the Emir of Borgu, Alhaji Muhammed Haliru Dantoro, to the presidential villa, Abuja.
They were in the villa, to congratulate the president on his re-election.
Top borgu traditional rulers and politicians including the spokesperson of the Senate, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi (APC, Niger) were on the delegation.
The emir said the Borgu people in Niger, Kwara, and Kebbi are united in their collective resolve for the movement of the creation of Borgu state.
“It is our believe that if states will be created by this administration or subsequent administration, Borgu state should be considered because of the abundance of economic potentials needed to move Nigeria forward,” he said.
