Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface has expressed heartfelt gratitude for a remarkable 2024, a year in which he clinched three major trophies and several individual accolades with the German champions.
The Super Eagles star took to social media to reflect on his stellar achievements, posting iconic photos under the caption, “Merci 2024.” The images highlighted his five Bundesliga Rookie of the Month awards, the 2024 Rookie of the Season trophy, and moments from Leverkusen’s historic treble celebrations.
In a follow-up post, Boniface wrote, “Bye 2024. We see everything in case you don’t know. See you 2025,” alongside video highlights of his standout year.
The 23-year-old was instrumental in Bayer Leverkusen’s first-ever Bundesliga triumph, contributing 14 goals and nine assists in just 23 league appearances. His efforts were pivotal as Xabi Alonso’s side completed an unbeaten campaign, dethroning Bayern Munich after a decade of dominance.

Boniface’s influence extended beyond the league, with 21 goals and 10 assists in all competitions propelling Leverkusen to their first domestic double since 1993, which included lifting the DFB-Pokal. He also found the net in their German Super Cup victory, earning a spot in the Bundesliga Team of the Season.
The Nigeria international, currently valued at €45 million, has attracted interest from European heavyweights, including Manchester United. However, Leverkusen are reportedly working on an improved contract that would keep him at the club until 2029, making him one of their highest-paid players.
Recovering from a thigh injury sustained on international duty, Boniface is expected to return to action in Leverkusen’s upcoming Bundesliga clash against Freiburg as they aim to continue their fine form in 2025.
