The police and military personnel, who arrived the area hours later, cordoned off the vicinity of the mosque. At about 11 am the Bomb Squad of the Nigeria Police also arrived the scene. The Area Commander of the Zaria Police Headquarters, Sani Maigana, who was at the scene, confirmed that no bomb was found at the mosque. Maigana urged residents to go about their normal businesses and urged residents to continue to report any suspicious characters around them.
