Other items donated include 350 bags of grains and building materials for rebuilding villages destroyed in the mayhem unleashed on Garaha, Kopre, Zah and Gaya about two weeks ago.
Presenting the equipment and relief materials, Chairman of Hong Local Government Council, Ahmad Yarima Isa, tasked the communities to be on alert and make maximum use of the items in ensuring security of lives and property in the area.
He said the foodstuff and building materials were meant to assist 3500 displaced people and other residents affected by the attacks. He added that government will do more to alleviate the suffering of victims of insurgency in the area.
Reiterating the need for community vigilance and volunteering of information to security agencies, Yarima called on people of the area to support the ongoing war against insurgency as committed partners and pray for the return of peace in North-east and the country.
In their separate remarks, Muslim and Christian leaders commended the chairman for his efforts.
The chairman who also presented official vehicles to the district heads of Pella, Hong, Dugwaba, Gaya and Garaha, stressed the need to improve the welfare of traditional rulers and provide them with necessary facilities to carry out their responsibilities more efficiently. In another development, Hong Local Government has announced the introduction of Kilba Language in all primary schools in the area.
