It is named Yerwa Peace Housing Estate and is located built along Baga Road in Maiduguri. Shettima urged the committee    to ensure that justice is done to the people who lost their houses.
Bulabulin was once a no go area after the Boko Haram seized it and used it as a base, training field and point of refuge after launching attacks there.
In 2013, troops, in collaboration with youth vigilantes, confronted the insurgents and in the process, most of the buildings were destroyed and countless shallow graves were discovered.
That was when Governor Shettima directed the building of one and two bedroom houses in a separate location not far from Bulabulin in order to resettle the displaced.
The governor said the houses were built at the cost of over N800 million with facilities such as clinic,  boreholes,  mosque,  perimeter fence  and gate among others. He said one of the reasons for initiating the estate was to cushion the effects of the insurgency on displaced persons.
He said over 2,500  units of houses  are under construction  at different  locations  within the state capital.
Responding,  the chairman of the committee,  Barrister Kaka Shehu Lawan who is also the State Attorney  General  and Commissioner of Justice thanked the governor  for finding them worthy to serve in the committee  and assured the governor  that the houses will be allocated with all sincerity, fairness , equity  and  justice.
