The Twitter account of the insurgent group, Jama’atu AhlisSunnah Lidda’awati Waljahad, popularly known as Boko Haram has been suspended.
The group launched the Twitter handle @ Alurwa Alwuthqa apparently in a new public relations offensive posting video interviews and pictures of child soldiers being trained on gun handling.
The group had announced the sect’s capture of Monguno using the account, using Arabic and Hausa languages and sometimes using English as subtitles.
The account which started tweeting on the 18th of January with a message about Baga had garnered close to 5,000 followers before it was shut on Sunday.
