Boko-Haram threat: Police beef up security in Abuja

Following terror attack threats by Boko Haram insurgents, who are said to have established camps in some satellite towns in the FCT and some neighbouring states, the FCT police command says it has beefed up security across the territory.

A statement by the command spokesman, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, said the command has deployed proactive intelligence gathering mechanisms and crime-fighting measures to protect lives and property of residents of the territory.

He said the command’s commitment to the protection of life and property would forestall any act that could lead to likely security breach, adding that the command was also working with sister security agencies in its ongoing effort to strengthen security in the FCT.

He said the command enjoined FCT residents to report any suspicious persons or activities in and around their neighbourhoods to the nearest police division or through any of the FCT police command control numbers: 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653 and 08028940883.
